Taste and use
Sweet, with a pronounced mango flavour; fruit pulp rather than juice, so the purée is correspondingly dense. Once opened, the tin can be used without further preparation.
About this product
Purée made from Kesar mangoes, sweetened. Kesar is the name of the variety, not an ingredient: saffron does not appear on the list. The ingredients are mango, sugar, water and citric acid; the tin holds 850 grams and states 95 per cent fruit pulp and 5 per cent sugar syrup. The purée is what mango lassi is made from.
