Taste and use

Sweet, though less sweet than gulab jamun according to the nutrition tables on both tins. The maker describes the balls as soft and spongy. Cardamom is the only spice on the list.

About this product

Balls of chhena, the fresh cheese made from cow's milk, in a light sugar syrup with cardamom. The sweet comes from Bengal. The tin holds one kilogram and is ready to eat. Unlike gulab jamun there is no dough involved: here the cheese and the syrup carry the taste.

About Haldiram's

Haldiram's began as a namkeen shop in Bikaner; in 1970 the founder's grandson moved the business to Nagpur and opened its first factory. We stock savouries and sweets.
