Taste and use
The taste is mild and faintly nutty, and the grains turn softer than rice. Rinse, soak for 30 to 60 minutes, then cook with a good two measures of water for 10 to 15 minutes; more water turns it to mush.
About this product
Samo, also called moriyo, is a small-grained millet, not rice, even though the grains look like it. In India it is eaten on fasting days when grain is set aside, and it is prepared like rice: as khichdi, as pulao or sweet as kheer. The ingredient list names samo seeds only. 400 g.
