Taste and use
The pearls have little taste of their own; they take on whatever is with them. Rinse them until the water runs clear, cover them barely with water and leave them for four to six hours – too much water and they turn sticky instead of loose.
About this product
Sabudana are small white pearls of tapioca starch, drawn from the cassava root; in the trade they also go by the name sago. Soaked, they turn soft and translucent. They are the base of sabudana khichdi and sabudana vada, and are cooked sweet for kheer. 500 g.
