Taste and use
Green and faintly grassy, with a skin that gives bite. Cooked properly the bean is soft and still round; some of the skins loosen and float to the top.
About this product
Whole green mung beans with the skin on. They are the basis for mung bean sprouts and, unsprouted, are cooked into sabut moong dal and into usal. Whole beans soak for eight to twelve hours in three times their volume of water. The dehusked yellow form is called moong dal, cooks faster and breaks down.
