Taste and use

Raw they are neutral and slightly milky. Roasted properly they turn light brown and smell clearly nutty; once they darken they taste bitter and cannot be saved.

About this product

Raw peanuts, unroasted and unsalted. In South Asian cooking they go into hot oil for tempering, are roasted for chaat and poha, and are cooked with jaggery into chikki. Raw they are firm and bland; only dry roasting in a pan or frying in oil brings the flavour out.
