Taste and use
Sweetish and anise-like, with a cool finish. Not hot. A short dry roast rounds them out; roasted too long they lose the very sweetness they were added for.
About this product
Whole fennel seeds in a bulk pack. They belong in the Bengali five-spice mix panch phoron, in fish curries and in many spice pastes, and they are chewed raw after a meal. For four portions allow one teaspoon, for chewing a pinch. A kilogram covers around two hundred dishes.
About Annam
Annam covers staples from India: rice, lentils, flours, spices and sugar. They are brought to Germany by Transfood, a wholesaler in Ratingen.
