Taste and use
The taste is restrained, so sambhar, rasam or a curry set the tone. Anyone used to basmati will mainly notice that the grains are softer and sit closer together.
About this product
Sona Masoori is a medium-grain rice, shorter than basmati, grown and eaten above all in South India. There it is the everyday grain and the usual base for idli and dosa batter, for pongal and for light rice dishes. Cooked, it stays soft and sits closer together rather than separating grain by grain like basmati. The sack holds 5 kg.
