Taste and use
Sweet, sour and salty at once, with lime and tamarind in front and mild chilli heat behind. Bhel is right when it still crackles on the plate; after ten minutes the puffed rice draws moisture and turns leathery.
About this product
The dry half of bhelpuri, mixed and ready: chickpea-flour sev, puffed rice, a little sugar and the whole seasoning including lime, tamarind and green chilli. All you add is diced onion, tomato and two chutneys. Mix only just before eating. One pack makes about six plates as a starter.
