Taste and use
Mild; according to the pack the cakes should come out soft and fluffy. It states 320 ml of water and one tablespoon of oil for the contents, 15 minutes in steam, served with sambar and coconut chutney.
About this product
Idli are steamed cakes of rice and lentils, eaten for breakfast in South India. Traditionally the batter is fermented; this instant mix is stirred with water and oil alone. Rice flour makes up 66 per cent, lentil flour 26 per cent. Gits states that the 200 gram box makes 18 idli.
