Taste and use

Salty and nutty, with no heat and no spice. Crisp when dry; in yoghurt it softens after five minutes and takes up the flavour – that is intended, not a fault.

About this product

Small round pearls of chickpea flour: the batter is dropped through a sieve into hot oil and comes out as beads. Four ingredients, no spices. Boondi is first of all an ingredient – it goes into boondi raita, where it softens in the yoghurt, and over kadhi or dal. For four portions of raita allow around 50 g.

Haldiram's began as a namkeen shop in Bikaner; in 1970 the founder's grandson moved the business to Nagpur and opened its first factory. We stock savouries and sweets.
