Taste and use
Herbal and clearly bitter, with a hay note. Not hot. One teaspoon sets the direction, two make the dish bitter - this is not a spice that forgives a generous hand.
About this product
Dried fenugreek leaves in a small tin. They are not cooked along but crushed between the palms at the end and scattered over the dish so the scent sits on top. One teaspoon covers four portions of butter chicken, dal or paneer curry. Also into the dough for methi paratha.
About MDH
MDH stands for Mahashian Di Hatti, the Gulati family spice shop from Sialkot, reopened in Delhi after partition in 1947. The company is based in Gurgaon today.
