Taste and use

Very sweet; the syrup of equal measures of sugar and water is boiled for five minutes, and the balls draw it in. The pack gives a test for the oil: when a piece of dough rises slowly, it has reached 165 degrees.

About this product

Gulab jamun are fried dough balls set into sugar syrup. The mix of wheat flour and 18 per cent skimmed milk powder is kneaded with water into a smooth dough: one quarter measure of water to one measure of mix, a measure being any cup you choose, as the pack puts it. Balls are shaped from it and fried golden brown over low heat.
