Taste and use
The scent is faintly nutty, the taste mild – basmati carries the sauce rather than drowning it. Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, otherwise the grains stick together.
About this product
The pack names the variety: 1121, a basmati bred for a particularly long grain. White, not parboiled, it grows noticeably longer again as it cooks and its grains stay separate – meant for biryani and pulao, where they are supposed to show. Available as a 5 kg and a 10 kg sack.

Punjabi is a rice brand whose logo carries the line "since 1980". From Punjabi we stock 1121 basmati from Pakistan and parboiled golden sella from India.
