Fruity and slightly sweet, with a mild heat that builds slowly and stays in the background. Anyone who wants a dish genuinely hot needs a second chilli alongside - this one colours.
About this product
Kashmiri chillies are grown for colour rather than heat: 1,000 to 2,000 Scoville, a fraction of cayenne. They give rogan josh, vindaloo and tandoori marinades their deep red. Use them whole in hot oil, or soaked in warm water and ground to a paste. Two to four pods for four portions; the pack covers around fifty dishes.
