Taste and use
Mild and faintly sweet, the most restrained dal on the shelf. Cooked properly the mixture is smooth and even; it should flow rather than sit as a stiff paste on the spoon.
About this product
Split mung beans without the skin, yellow inside. The fastest form of this bean and the usual one for khichdi, for thin dal and for moong dal halwa. Dehusked pulses do not need soaking. The halves break down in the pot and thicken the liquid; for more texture, use moong dal chilka with the skin on.
