Taste and use
Mild and faintly sweet, without the earthy note of the unhusked kind. Cooked properly the mixture turns smooth and spreads evenly; individual halves are no longer visible at that point.
About this product
Split mung beans, dehusked, yellow inside, with the green skin removed. This is the form used for khichdi, for thin dal and for moong dal halwa. Dehusked pulses do not need soaking. The halves break down as they cook and thicken the liquid on their own. Whole green mung beans are a different product and soak overnight.
About Annam
