Taste and use
Basmati smells faintly nutty as it cooks and tastes milder than short-grain rice. Rinse it until the water runs clear, otherwise the grains stick together, which is exactly what biryani should not do.
About this product
White basmati rice with an extra long grain, in 5 kg and 10 kg sacks. The grain grows noticeably longer again as it cooks and stays separate – this is the rice for biryani and pulao, where the individual grains are meant to show. The pack works with 60 g of uncooked rice per serving, so a 5 kg sack covers around 80 servings.
