Taste and use
Salty-sour with a cooling mint finish and the sulphurous note of black salt. Not a sweet drink: salt comes first in the ingredient list and there is no sugar in it.
About this product
Powder for jal jeera, the chilled cumin water. The German line on the pack calls it a spice preparation for a refreshing drink. It is stirred into cold water, not boiled. The acidity comes from tamarind, dried mango and citric acid, listed as E 330 in the ingredients.
About MDH
MDH stands for Mahashian Di Hatti, the Gulati family spice shop from Sialkot, reopened in Delhi after partition in 1947. The company is based in Gurgaon today.
