Taste and use
Earthy and slightly bitter from fenugreek leaves and mustard seeds, with fennel as a sweet counterweight. Chilli comes second in the ingredient list: the blend is distinctly hot.
About this product
An all-purpose blend for vegetable dishes, sabzi in Hindi. The pack states one teaspoon to 500 grams of cut vegetables, fried in oil or ghee and cooked covered for 15 to 20 minutes, with rice or roti alongside. Coriander carries the blend, turmeric gives the colour.
About MDH
MDH stands for Mahashian Di Hatti, the Gulati family spice shop from Sialkot, reopened in Delhi after partition in 1947. The company is based in Gurgaon today.
