Achar
Spicy pickled vegetables or fruit

Indian Pickle, Mango-Pickle
Achar is the Indian version of pickles, vegetables or fruit preserved in oil with intense seasoning from mustard seeds, fenugreek, fennel and chili. Classic varieties are Mango Achar, Lime Achar, Carrot Achar and Mixed Achar. Unlike Western pickles, Achar rarely contains vinegar, preservation happens through salt, oil and fermentation. A small portion of Achar accompanies virtually every Indian meal and sharpens the appetite. We carry Achar from Patak's and other brands.
