Ghee

Clarified butter with nutty aroma

Also known as

Butterschmalz, Geklärte Butter

Ghee is clarified butter, made by slowly heating butter to remove water and milk solids. What remains is pure butterfat with a golden color and nutty caramel aroma. Ghee tolerates much higher temperatures than regular butter, making it excellent for frying. In Indian cooking, Ghee is essential for curries, rice dishes, sweets and religious rituals. By removing milk components it also keeps longer than butter. We carry Ghee from various original brands.
